The crucifixion and resurrection is all about love. Love is what Jesus was all about. He epitomized God’s loving ways of compassion and inclusion, justice and healing, so that everyone knew there was no boundary to being beloved of God.
We are all beloved of God. All are equal in God’s eyes. Living and modeling that love gave many hope and purpose who before meeting Jesus had none. In so doing, it also created enemies. As we love Jesus-style, he comes and is seen again and again and our world has glimpses of heaven on earth.
The March 2021 issue of Canada Lutheran explores the many stories of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The feature story uses words and pictures written by adults in response to the question, “How would you explain the death and resurrection of Jesus to a 12-year-old?”
