A Commitment to Reconciliation and Racial Justice

Our Journey Has Just Begun

We are called to action to confront racism and pursue racial justice, within our local communities, our country and globally. However, it is just as paramount that we look inward and address the pervasive systemic racism and inherent white privilege that exists within our church and take action accordingly.

“Our role has just begun,” Pat Lovell reminds us. “Our journey has just begun.” We must remember that dealing with the presence of racism and white supremacy in our church will be a long journey, and perhaps an uncomfortable one at times, but an absolutely necessary one.

The December 2023 issue of Canada Lutheran takes readers on a journey through various topics surrounding the journey to eliminate racism and bullying, while focusing on positive changes and appropriate first steps towards solidarity.
