Connecting Purpose and Passion

Finding New Ways to Build Community

Residents of Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver top the list for people who feel lonely at least three times a week, says the 2023 Vital Signsreport by Toronto Foundation.

“People don’t feel as connected to others as they have in previous generations, or they feel isolated because of language barriers or housing,” suggests Rev. Aneeta Saroop, pastor at Spirit of Life, Vancouver.

The January/February 2024 issue of Canada Lutheran takes a look at the issue of loneliness all across Canada. Brenda Suderman’s full piece can be viewed via the ‘online issues’ tab by all online Canada Lutheran subscribers.
