In an ever-growing (and ever-confusing) world of technology, our faith communities have found themselves uncertain of their role in embracing or adapting to changes in the digital world. Whether through education, work or our personal lives, it can prove difficult to apply God’s word to new concepts that feel foreign to scripture.
“A lot of people still think of AI as this big sci-fi narrative, you know, the stereotypes about robots taking over the earth, instead of the everyday stuff you might encounter. A solid starting point for congregations are these real world examples: talking about AI chat bots, like Siri for example, and asking if members have used them, can open up the conversation. It’s easy to pull these things up on a screen, and engage in a discussion on the advantages and risks of AI.”
