Re: CLWR at 75, July/August, p. 10.
Hats off to the many visionaries who helped build and shape CLWR into what it is today. CLWR has brought many together through refugee resettlement. It also brought the Chell and Lange families together. The late George Keil hired me the summer of 1982 to write bulletin inserts for CLWR. I worked closely with future CLWR director Bob Granke and the late Ursula Lange.
Ursula was known to many in the late 70s and 80s as the “cheerful voice” on Polson and later as refugee co-ordinator under Rev. David Hardy. She also became my mother-in-law. With 37 years of marriage, two children and now two grandchildren as well, her daughter Brita and I cherish what a profound impact CLWR has had on us.—Dave Chell, Victoria
