On Thursdays across the ELCIC, you might notice a pattern of people in synod offices, seminaries, and churches across the country, all wearing one colour: black. This is a part of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Thursdays in Black movement, a global initiative targeted at fostering solidarity between partner congregations and survivors of gender-based violence.
