A number of articles in the January/February edition had excerpts that jumped off the page. As noted by the great eighteenth century writer Alexander Pope “What oft was thought but ne’er so well expressed.”
There was an abundance of spiritual advice from three of our clergy out here on the west coast [Denef, Reinhardt and Mohr] that speaks to all of us: “‘Hell’ revisited” (Q&A p. 15) reviewed what many of us have wondered; “Just what is the role for the Lutheran Church in my slice of life?” is a question worthy of diligent analysis (What I did on my summer sabbatical (p. 16); and The complexity of human life (p. 18) with very personal insights, many of them with universal application.
