I remember St. John’s well and give thanks for the people it nurtured and formed in the image of Christ. Even so, I can only imagine that the decision to donate church building and parsonage to Epiphany Indigenous Church was hard-wrought. It is a joy to know that this is not only an act of generosity but an intentional act of reconciliation.
It gives me great hope for our church that these faithful followers of Christ resisted the lure of money that a sale would have brought for the church. I am thankful that through their resistance they showed us what reconciliation can look like.
