I think many of us hear the comment, “I’m a good Christian so why do I need to go to church?” My response is that it takes more than being “good” to be a good Christian. You also need to love Christ. Is there any other person in your life that you profess to love and yet never visit or commune with?
The other statement I hear, made in a joking manner, is, “If I were to enter the church, lightning would strike” insinuating that it had been so long since they last entered a church or that they had sinned so much that they don’t belong in church. My response is there would be rejoicing, not anger.
