With the help of a manual espresso maker and a battery-operated whisk, Rev. Richard Reimer offers caffeine-loving university students a taste of grace. He serves his foam cross-topped “Lutheran latte” from his chaplain’s office at University of Edmonton north campus freely to anyone willing to pause for a few minutes while it brews. “It takes so long to make, that in that time, we have a pastoral visit,” says the longtime chaplain, who plans to retire from full-time ministry in mid-2025.
