A trio of new bishops have been elected in three of the ELCIC’s five synods— Rev. Carla Blakley in Eastern Canada, Rev. Trish Schmermund in Alberta and the Territories and Rev. Dr. Ali Tote in Saskatchewan. And while they’ll all be in different parts of the country, the three share a common goal—to build a kinder, more inclusive Lutheran Church.
